Mrs. Miller’s Newsletter



Important Information:

·       Supply donation is $25.00

·       Ice cream day will be on Fridays. The cost is 50 cents. Please send only correct change and only enough money to buy one ice cream. Send money in baggie or envelope in the money pocket of folder.

·       We have a snack time set aside each day. Water is also allowed, but other juices and soft drinks are not. We keep a few snacks for those who forget, but are not able to provide a big snack. If you would like to contribute to the class snacks we would greatly appreciate it. Also please remember to send snacks that do not have peanut butter.   

·       Please remember to have your children wear tennis shoes on PE days: Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

·       If you need to change your child’s transportation, please fill out the orange paper and return in your child’s folder.    

·       This year we will not have a homework packet, but will have a reading log. Please fill out the reading log in their folder each night. We ask that you read with your child each night and practice their sight words and phonics skills that are in the reading letter. Each week we will send home an updated sight word list with the new words added.

·       September 26th- Johnny Appleseed day

·       October 4th- Grandparents day

·       October 5th- field trip to the Pumpkin patch; please sign and return field trip permission notes

·       October 8th-10th- Fall Break

·       Our newsletter is always on our website if you were to misplace it.

Language Arts

We will be focusing on what makes pets so special. We will talk about living things and their basic needs. In phonics we will be working on words with l blends (black, slack, flap). We will work on details in a story and story sequence. Our spelling words are: clip, slip, flip, flag, black, plan, be, come, good, pull.



       We will continue our unit on addition and learn lots of strategies to help us with addition.
